Job Title: Bookkeeper
igniteHR is hiring a bookkeeper on behalf of our client—an established, fast-paced operation based in Omaha, NE. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in an environment where no two days are the same. If you’re detail-obsessed, confident working independently, and ready to bring structure to a high-volume, high-energy business, this might be your perfect fit.

Who You Are

You’re a numbers person—but not the boring kind. You’re sharp, self-directed, and secretly get a kick out of reconciling accounts to the penny. You’re the steady hand behind the financial chaos—bringing structure, accountability, and order to a fast-moving, high-transaction operation. You thrive in fast-moving environments, and you’re the kind of person who doesn’t just wait for direction—you look for ways to improve the flow.

You understand that great bookkeeping isn’t just about entering numbers—it’s about catching issues, protecting the bottom line, and providing real-time insight to decision makers.

You’re someone who:

  • Is ridiculously organized
  • Has an eagle eye for details
  • Communicates clearly and proactively
  • Can take a mess and make it make sense
  • Knows your way around QuickBooks (like it’s your second language) and POS systems
  • Doesn’t need hand-holding—and actually prefers it that way
  • Is discreet, trustworthy, and takes confidentially seriously

What You Stand For

  • Accuracy, always.
  • Transparency and trust—you’re handling the books, after all.
  • Making things better, cleaner, more efficient.
  • Keeping your cool when chaos is swirling
  • Respecting the grind of small business hustle and bringing financial sanity to it.

The Environment

This isn’t your average office.
You’ll be working in a laid-back Omaha warehouse environment filled with:

  • Straight shooters and seasoned pros who work hard and keep it real
  • A fast-moving team and high-energy work style
  • Constant motion, shifting priorities, and lots of transactions
  • A culture that’s casual, flexible, and a little rough around the edges (in the best way)

No corporate fluff, no silent halls—just real people doing real work, every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll manage the day-to-day finances for a high-volume, multi-stream operation that sees 500+ transactions per day across several accounts and platforms.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Reconciling multiple bank and payment accounts (PayPal, eBay, Whatnot, etc.)
  • Managing and categorizing high volumes of transactions with precision
  • Working in QuickBooks Online and Lightspeed POS
  • Generating reports (daily, weekly, monthly, ad hoc) to support leadership
  • Monitoring revenue, expenses, and ensuring clean, audit-ready books
  • Keeping ownership informed on trends, gaps, or concerns
  • Suggesting and implementing systems improvements
  • Maintaining full discretion when handling confidential business and financial data

Skills & Requirements

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in fast-paced or high-transaction settings
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Lightspeed POS a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies
  • Great communicator—clear, direct, and proactive
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and accountability
  • Comfortable working independently in a non-traditional office setting
  • Trustworthy and experienced in handling confidential financial information

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive salary range (based on numerous factors such as experience, location, etc.) is $33,970-$61,650
  • Hybrid Flexible Schedule – some days available to work remotely
  • Casual dress code
  • Work in a unique, fast-paced environment with no micromanagement
  • Opportunities to own your process and make a visible impact
  • Sick days and Paid Time Off (PTO)
